Napoli

Once again our friend and LD mikki Kunttu sent us some fantastic pictures of a project he has been working on over in Denmark, Mikki created a wonderful visual feast for the underwater scenes of the ballet Napoli at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen.

Using just one Hippotizer HD running in dual mode, Mikki and the team created a sub-aqua mood by using  4 layers to drive the backdrop and 4 layers providing content and textures to the frontal elements.  “We wanted to create a true underwater feel and by juggling a combination of moving lights with animated gobos for shafts of light and Hippotizer Aqua and Blur effects on the content we think we achieved a satisfying blend between video and lighting to create the desired look.  I suppose you could call it a ‘submersive’ environment!” Jokes Mikki.

“We also worked together with SSR Beacon from Stockholm, Sweden for some content elements.  Lennart Wåhlin’s input on creating media for the look had a noticeable impact on the final results”

The show opened in November and its final showing forms part of the schedule for Clean Skies, the United Nations Climate Change Conference currently running in Copenhagen.
